It was called the wedlock of the century, with 3,500 hoi polloi in the congregation and another 750 million people watching the ceremony worldwide. This number rose to a zillion when the radio audience was added. at that place were 4,000 police and 2,200 military officers to dispense the crowds. It was the wedding of Lady Diana Frances Spencer and Charles Philip Arthur George, Prince of Wales. The ceremony took place on July 29, 1981, at St. Pauls Cathedral.
As the crowd got bigger and bigger, the street space became littler and smaller, everyone waited patiently for the arrival of the princess to be. The oohs and awes had a ripple movement through the sea of people, as the beautiful, graceful horse bony glass coach, carrying the princess do its way down the street to the Cathedral. The horses seemed to be moving in slow motion, but yet to speedy too really take in the moment. It was a fervent summer day, and the smells of flowers were in the air. The coach was escorted by five mount military police officers. The carriage was small, but somehow managed to delay her father and the bride to be, elegant lop and all. As the coach made its way, all heads saturnine to take one last watch at the beginning of the wedding of the century.
As the carriage arrived at the Cathedral, Diana stepped out, upon her appearance everyone outside gasped and were speechless seeing the princesss dress. The dress was stunning; it flowed like a leaf in a swift moving river. It was a puff ball meringue with commodious billowing sleeves. The gown featured a delicate bodice embellished with a ruffled collar and a little bow in the center. The dress itself was made of silk taffeta with decorative lace that was hand embroidered. There were sequins that danced freely and shimmered in the summer sun. There were 10,000 pearls that were placed on the front of the dress to make an elaborate design.
