Race and Your Community
The United States is often referred to as a melting ken because of all of the different races and cultures it embraces. This is a country that gives people the prospect to be and accept who they are. The United States also lets people grapple their cultural experiences with everyone around them. In this paper, I will begin to explain what is like to grow up in a country and a community that is chip in and free to all.
I am an Afri fucking American woman who was born and embossed in Illinois. I started my life off living in Chicago with my two younger siblings. My parents made the conscious last to move us out of Chicago so that we could emend escape becoming just another statistic, receive a higher quality education, and they would be apt(p) the opportunity to reach gainful employment. Their decision to move placed us in the southwest suburbs where we would encounter people who did not always take care like us. This lead to us having both positive and prejudicious experiences when it came to our race and the community. However, the positive always outweighed the negative. My parents felt that it was important for us to be raised in a community that had a diverse population.
They did not want to stunt our growth by raising us in a community where everyone looked the same, behaved the same, or had the same beliefs. Instead, they wanted us to grow up having an open mind. My parents wanted us to be accepting of all races and cultures. They wanted us to be to look upon people as individuals and hazard them as such. Now that I have children of my own, I can really see and appreciate the importance of teaching your children to be accepting of others.
